Crockpot Cabbage Stew
Let me just start by saying, this is one of my all time favorite soups or stews that I have made.
I make this in my Hamilton Beach Crockpot. It has a timer on it, which make it so easy! You don't have to have a fancy crockpot though. I use a pretty large crockpot and this meal makes lots of leftovers as well.
This crockpot stew is so easy to make!
Ingredients:
1 Small Head of Cabbage
2 - 15 ounce cans of diced tomatoes
1 pound of ground beef
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 yellow onion
2 cups of water
1 cup of beef broth
4 Cloves of garlic
Salt
Pepper
Chili Powder
1 Can of tomato paste
1 Can of tomato sauce
Directions:
1. Cut up onion and bell pepper and place in a skillet with some olive oil. Add in the pound of ground beef to brown, while browning add in the garlic.
2. Cut up the cabbage into strips that are pretty easy to eat. Then add in the crockpot. Next add the browned ground beef to the crock pot.
3. Then add the tomato past, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes.
4. Add the beef broth and then water. If all the water will not fit that's fine.
5. Add in your spices and mix up.
6. Cook on low for 7 hours or high for 3 hours.
7. Serve and enjoy after cooking.
This crock-pot meal is one of my go-to's on cold winter days. It is exceptionally good with some tabasco added if you like to spice it up some.
