Hummus... Homemade

Hummus is one of my absolute favorite snack foods. I never really thought about making it on my own before, but I decided to give it a try.

I made a pesto flavor and a guacamole flavor.

To make it you need:

1 Can of Chickpeas (Drained and Rinsed)

1 Small Avocado (Half Medium)

2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

Cilantro

Red Pepper (Can omit, but you lose some flavor)

Salt and Pepper

* I also added 1/3 cans full of water (The Chickpea Can)

The Instructions are easy. You just add in your ingredients to a food processor or blender and once it's blended to your liking enjoy. The more water you add the more thin your hummus will be.

Things you need:

1 Can of Chickpeas (Drained and Rinsed)

2 Tablespoons olive oil

2 Tablespoons Pesto

2 Tablespoons of Shredded Parmesan Cheese

1/3 Can full of water

1 Tablespoon of Red Pepper Flakes

Salt and Pepper to taste

**I wish I would have added more pesto to this. Maybe 3 or 4 Tablespoons

Pesto Flavor Hummus

To make this it's just like the guacamole flavor, you just add the ingredients to your food processor or blender and let it go. Once again remember the more water you add the thinner the hummus will turn out.

I paired my hummus with pita chips and pretzels, but you could use veggies if on the Paleo Diet.
