Cooking with Zoodles
Zoodles are zucchinis turned into noodles. The way you do this is through a spiralizer either a hand spiralizer or electric. The one that I use is an electric spiralizer and it is AMAZING!!!
I got my spiralizer through mine and my husband's wedding registry on Amazon. It is one of the most handy things in my kitchen, especially with trying to cut down on carbs and LOVING past so much.
I made spaghetti, meatballs, and zoodles for dinner the other night. The spaghetti sauce that I made was super simple, because I did not feel like cooking much. Yep, that's right everyone gets tired of cooking at some point!
My spaghetti sauce was a can of crushed tomatoes and a can of diced tomatoes and then I added Italian seasoning, chili powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. I just heated the sauce up in a sauce pan.
The meatballs that I used were frozen leftovers from our wedding, but you can always use frozen meatballs from the store. I just heated them up in a skillet and added some water to keep them from drying out and sticking to the pan.
My zoodles I cooked with olive oil in a skillet as well. I cooked them on medium heat and only added pepper, I read somewhere that using salt with the zucchini made it mushy. I also used both zucchini and squash for my zoodles.
