The BEST Shrimp and Grits - Acme Low Country Kitchen

Acme Low Country Kitchen Restaurant

Have you ever found a restaurant that you could eat at every single day for the rest of your life? I truly believe I have found that place.

Acme Low Country Kitchen falls nothing short of excellent. The service is wonderful, the drinks are superb, and just wait until I get started about their food. And I will just go ahead and let you know that my family loves Acme so much we went not just once, but twice throughout our vacation.

Chef Charles and his kitchen staff definitely know what they are doing at Acme Low Country Kitchen.

I started my night off with a salad, which is like any salad, but then you add their warm bacon vinaigrette to it at you have a little bit more than just a salad. Next, we sampled some of their signature shrimp and grits. We had The Charleston Shrimp and Grits and The Dirty Shrimp and Grits.

Charleston Shrimp and Grits - Acme Low Country Kitchen

The Charleston Shrimp and Grits were my favorite, they are blackened

shrimp, smoked sausage, and roasted tomatoes and onions. The flavor all combines perfectly in this dish. I hands down would say these were no doubt the best shrimp and grits I have ever put in my mouth. And you can ask anyone in my family, I have eaten a LOT of shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked perfectly where with a bit of the grits it would just all melt in your mouth.

The Dirty Shrimp and Grits were wonderful as well, I have never had quite a take on shrimp and grits before. They had sautéed shrimp, smoked AND country sausage, peppers and onions, and shrimp stock. Never would I have thought to add country sausage to shrimp and grits, but it is a game changer. There were so many different flavors and juices flowing in the dish. This was a big hit with my entire family and myself, but I really loved The Charleston Shrimp and Grits.

Red Snapper Chef's Special - Acme Low Country Kitchen

For my entree I had one of the Chef's specials of the day. The entree was Red Snapper served over couscous with fried Brussels Sprouts and a shrimp sauce. The Red Snapper was cooked to absolute perfection it paired along with the fried Brussels Sprouts made my mouth sing with excitement and the couscous added a wonderful texture to the dish as well.

Amberjack Chef's Special - Acme Low Country Kitchen

My husband had an entree that was also on the Chef's specials of the day. Bacon-wrapped Amberjack over garlic herb grits with Fried Green Tomatoes and a tomato jam. My husband described his dish as the best fish he has eaten. He described the amberjack as a very thick and meaty fish and wrapped in bacon just added that much more to the fish as well.

If you are ever in the Charleston area or are on The Isle of Palms, Acme Low Country Kitchen is the place to go. Thank you to the amazing staff for always sharing an amazing meal and experience at the beach.
